In being Jesus' witnesses, we are to go into all the world. This summer, we are going on a national trip to Memphis to be the hands and feet of Jesus by partnering with SERVE901.
SERVE901 is centered in Memphis and their mission is threefold:
- Engage: They believe in engaging your own city to understand the everyday life of the city
- Learn: Memphis has a rich history that has shaped it—there is a lot to learn about justice, the Civil Rights Movement, and reconciliation
- Serve: Supporting and serving with local groups in Memphis for city improvement
TRAINING MEETINGS
•JANUARY 15TH
•FEBRUARY 19TH ($50 DEPOSIT DUE)
•MARCH 12TH
•APRIL 2ND (FIRST $200 Due NON-NEGOTIABLE)
•MAY 28TH (FINAL PAYMENT DUE)
EXPECTATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Completed 7th Grade prior to Trip
- 20 Serving Hours
- Sunday Morning Youth Attendance (2 out of every 4 weeks)
- Training Meeting Attendance (4 out of 5 with April 2nd REQUIRED)
- Know how to Share Your Story and the Gospel with someone—Will need to share with Travis ahead of time
- Read and Reflect on the whole of 1 Peter (1 New chapter read before each meeting)
